Quebec Brook Trout by splitrailoutdoors

I took a little side trip late one evening on a 2 week hunting trip for Caribou on a remote lake in Northern Quebec. I don't remember the name of the lake. We just called it Camp 9.

It was 160 miles by float plane from the base at Squaw Lake and 1200 miles north of Montreal.

I took a boat out and caught these native Brookies on a small red and white spoon. They made a great addition to supper.

Teresa wasn't along on this trip. It was a good thing too. We got stuck in camp by a big snowstorm for 3 extra days before the plane could come and get us.

  • 3D mapping - In addition to the terrain map and birds eye view, there is now an option on each trip and location page to do a "3D Fly Through" of that location. The first time you will need to download a Google Earth Plugin, but it only takes a minute and is well worth it.

August 28, 2008
  • Maps, maps everywhere - Instead of just viewing the large map to see your photos, hotspots, and trips, there are now "minimaps" on several of the pages that make it easier to find your next big fishing hole.

August 14, 2008
  • Rate and Comment on Photos - Finally you are able to rate and comment on photos. Simply click on a photo to bring up its details and the ability to rate and comment on it.

June 6, 2008
  • Print Topo Maps - I have just added a new button to the map that allows you to print topo maps for your current map view. This should be a very powerful tool to help you with planning your next trip. Print and laminate your maps and bring them on you next fishing trip. I have also just added the ability to see birds eye views for certain fishing locations that are plotted on the map.
