Center Hill Lake is located in middle Tennessee in the Cumberland Mountains nestled among beautiful rolling hills. Counties surrounding the lake include Smith, Putnam, DeKalb, Warren and White Counties. The major tributaries flowing into Center Hill Lake are the Caney Fork River, Collins River, Rocky River, and the Falling Water. A person would have to search far and wide to find a lake more beautiful than Center Hill. Nearly all the shoreline of Center Hill lake is undeveloped and offers undisturbed natural beauty. With its clear water, rock bluffs, and three breathtakingly beautiful waterfalls a person could not call it less than part of Tennessee Heaven. Nestled in the Cumberland Mountains of middle Tennessee, Center Hill Lake offers excellent fishing, camping, hiking and all around great outdoor recreation. The TWRA and local anglers have placed many fish attractors and brush piles throughout the lake, which adds to making Center Hill Lake an excellent lake for fishing. Abundant in the lake are smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, striped bass (white bass), catfish, bluegill, and walleye. The lake also offers brown trout, rainbow trout, paddlefish, spotted bass, and three types of crappie.

Center Hill Lake is a reservoir in the U.S. state of Tennessee. It is located in Middle Tennessee near Smithville. Created by means of a dam constructed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 1948, the lake had a dual purpose: electricity production and flood control. Center Hill Dam is 260 ft (79 m) high, and it is composed of concrete and earth structures, with 8 gates that are 50 ft (15 m) wide each.
