South Holston Lake Description

South Holston Lake is located in Abingdon, Virginia, and Bristol, Virginia, and Bristol, Tennessee, and is a 7,580-acre (31 km2) impoundment operated by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). Much of the reservoir is in Tennessee, but the Virginia portion of the reservoir offers anglers more than 1,600 acres (6 km2) of water. At this time there is no reciprocal license agreement between the two states, so anglers are required to have a Virginia fishing license when fishing in Virginia waters and a Tennessee license when fishing in Tennessee waters.[1]
